Frameless Glass Curtains

Frameless Glass Curtains of West Malling, Kent, has developed a double glazed unit which is frameless, for use in a folding/sliding door system. Individual slimline doors that slide on PTFE (Teflon) in the track and in the profile can be stacked both ways similar to bi-folding doors.

The company’s side spacer is made from toughened glass 20mm x 12mm and UV glued to low iron and low E glass then sealed with clear polymer. At the top of the panel there are two aluminium spacers filled with desiccant and there are also two at the bottom tracks and profiles are aluminium, powder coated to any RAL colour.

The system has a patent pending and has passed BS 6375 Part 1 and is being tested for EN1279, the company announces.

The frameless system allows the homeowner or commercial customer to enjoy unspoilt views whilst keeping out the unseasonal British weather. The user can easily open each individual pane (or curtain) and fold them away to enjoy a balcony, conservatory or terrace, bringing the outside in and taking the inside out.

There are several videos and numerous pictures of both single and double glazed systems on the company’s website, www.framelessglasscurtains.co.uk
