U M G FRONT UP A SUPER HOME
Over the years UMG has taken pride in designing and fabricating eye catching contemporary glass and steel structures. Working with architects and contractors they are able to produce one off designs to perfectly match the needs of the client in appearance but with costs, quality and practicality always a consideration.
One of their recent projects was part of a retirement village at Dalefield Road, Normanton, Wakefield. The building is a three storey "Super Home", and the largest residential building in Normanton. The client was SYHA (South Yorkshire Housing Association), they were very keen to get the right balanced look for the entrance to the building. Working with the architect UMG designed and fabricated the feature entrance, plus 1st and 2nd floor curved balconies. The canopy and curved balconies are an integrated structure designed so as not to place excessive loads on to the timber building frame.
The Canopy is fitted with polycarbonate panels, curved to match the roof section above. The balconies are fitted with 10mm clear toughened safety glass, with galvanized Durbar plate balcony decks.
UMG are able to offer a complete service from design to manufacture, through to installation. Their skills and knowledge within this area of construction has been gained from many years of experience in the industry which can be clearly seen in the varied work shown on the web site photographic library.
